During the dizzy heights of the July heat-wave we were cordially invited to Blah, Blah, Blah, hosted by The Frontroom Cambridge and all the nice folks from The District. Initially seduced by the prospect of BBQ and beer soon after our arrival it became apparent we were not here solely for leisurely activities.
Due to the current economic climate many high street retailers have fared the worst. In a bid to revitalise town centres and avoid community hubs falling into disrepair the government has announced plans to open up these retail spaces for installation art pieces. Shortly after a delightful selection of organic BBQ fodder we set about brainstorming ideas for installations. To keep an edge of competition and variety we split into 4 groups with varying influences from illustration, graphic design, digital media and photography. Following suitable chilled refreshments we convened to discuss our ideas, a wide spectrum of responses from 3 dimensional story telling to dot matrix twitter print outs.
We’re looking forward to seeing the outcome sometime in the near future as well as another opportunity to escape the office and bash some creative heads together.
